Six to Shop in Springfield

Braum’s An Affair of the Heart, consistently voted one of the country’s top contemporary craft shows by Sunshine Artist magazine, will return to the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield, Mo., Sept 6-8.

Braum’s An Affair of the Heart is a handmade, boutiques and gourmet market that started over 30 years ago in Oklahoma. It is now the largest and longest running show of its kind in the state, and working to bring this long-standing shopping tradition to Springfield.

The third annual Braum’s An Affair of the Heart show will feature over 160 booths of handmade, boutiques and gourmet food items including everything from jewelry and up-cycled furniture to clothing, home décor, handcrafted lotions and soaps and much more. The vendors represent 10 states traveling to Springfield to sell their goods over three days.  The show provides shoppers with a unique opportunity to browse over 100 pop-up shops from across the nation selling unique, one-of-a-kind items celebrating the craft, skill, art and style of the vendor.

Here’s our pick of six vendors to shop this weekend.

Mike Ilkiw, owner of Bowls for Breasts, produces bowls, platters, kitchen utensils and artistic pieces from locally sourced fallen trees. Most of the work involves a wood lathe. You can find each original and unique piece in booth 326.
This piece, titled The Holy Family, is created using a Renaissance art form known as intarsia. The piece is cut, carved to depth, painted then glued to a backer and finished. These unique designs in wood are produced by Razorsharp Wood in booth 218.
Cinnaberry Hollow creates touchable fabric art like these Mullywogs – her whimsical, quirky folk art characters. Find them and more of her fabric friends in booth 280.
Scott Farms is introducing new products at the Springfield show including tomato basil soup mix (just add water); new fruit dips; cheeseball and cheesecake mixes including blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, pineapple and lemon lime! Taste them all in booths 299-300.
Test out the organic aloe skin cream in Hawaiian Moon’s booth 307.
Birchwood Barn will get you in the mood for fall. Check out her varied and uniquely curated collection of home furnishings, antiques, collectibles, gifts, decor and more in booth 361.
