Five Questions with Michelle Kelber
How long have you been making items out of your artwork and how did you get started?
I have been marketing our gift line for going on 20-plus years now.
How long does a typical piece of art take you to make?
Creating an original piece of art is on a timeline of its own. As with any job I suppose, you have good days and bad days. Creating art is no different. Some days I can paint for 12-14 hours nonstop and some days I shouldn’t even pick up a brush. I have never logged the hours it takes to complete a piece.
What is your best-selling item?
I would say my best-selling items are always the new things! Right now it would be my scarves, but my art tiles and coffee mugs have always sold well!
What do you look forward to most about doing shows?
I love seeing all the smiling faces! I love visiting and hearing stories of how art has impacted their lives. The best part is when a piece I’ve poured my soul into finds a new home where it will be appreciated and loved!
What would you like people to know about your products?
I would like people to know our entire gift line is made by my family in Pryor, OK. Our gift line is Native American made from the concept of the original art all the way to the production. This is something our family is very proud of!
